Friday Morning Hilarity

by stryson

This morning, in a mixed third and fourth grade reading class, we played a game based on a Visualizing & Verbalizing exercise. It’s much like Password; the student whose turn it is has a noun card. He or she must describe the object or person without saying what it is. The remaining students may guess (with a raised hand) after 3 or more clues. It is a great exercise for developing both visualizing capabilities and expressive language.

It also poses the possibility of absolutely hysterical answers from the kids.

This morning, one child had the noun “grocery store.” He said that it was big, it was a place to buy food, and when prompted, “Does it sell anything else?” He said “Cheesy stuff.”

Another student guessed, “Bottle King.”

His rationale was…. they have cheese.
